Dr. Nazmul Haque born in Thakurgaon District
in Bangladesh. He completed his scholarly student life from his own
district and University of Dhaka. He awarded Ph-D degree from University
of Dhaka in 2003. His research work was related with anthropology and
Folklore. He studied in Visva-Bharati University (Shantiniketan), INDIA,
as a Ph-D research scholar in Indian Government scholarship programme.
After finishing Masters examination, he joined `Delta Development
Project’ (Netherland-Bangladesh) as a assistant research officer and
than joined `Pabna Cadet College’.After more then 8 years he joined
Panchagarh Womens College as a younger Principal in March,1990. Here
he served up to 15th july of 2002. After becoming the College Government,
he took transferred to Dinajpur Government College. In March 2009,
Dr.Nazmul Haque joined `Begum Rokeya University’ in Rangpur. Now he
is Associate professor of department of Bangla and performing additional
responsibility as Chairman of Department of English and Director of
Bohirangon ( external affairs) of the university.
His wife Suraiya Begum is a Government College teacher and a poet. He has
only a sweet daughter Shamma.
1.A Geological, Anthropological, Archaeological and Ethnical
characteristic museum- named `Rocks Museum’ founded and created by him in
1997 to 2000 A.D entirely by the virtue of his personal initiative and
efforts in Panchagarh womens College.
2.`A historical investigation based on Archaeological relics in Rocks
Museum’ – a field work based research completed by him and accepted by the
Bangladesh University Grants Commission (2011)
3. A survey research completed and published by him, named - `A
socio-economic and educational study of the students of 1st batch of Begum
Rokeya University’ (Feb-2010)
4. A field-work research paper on `Identification, valuation and
Intellectual property protection of the cultural expression of Rajshahi
Division’ presented by him on WIPO seminar at Dhaka and participated in
National workshop on same issue organized by Cultural Ministry of
Bangladesh and WIPO as a Folklore specialist in Dhaka on 17th and 18th of
April in 2007.
5. He performed field work for greater Rangpur and Dinajpur District with
`Cultural survey of Bangladesh project’ organized by `Bangladesh Asiatic
Society’ as a `Research Associate’(2005-2008).
6.He prepared a field work based book, named - `Lokojo sanskritir bikash
in Panchagarh District’ ( Development of Folklore: an outlook) organized
by Bangla Academy as a chief Co-ordinator (2012).
Dr.Nazmul Haque written 12 research Books and about 30 articles. Some of
his important publications are :
Dr. Nazmul Haque awarded `Best
Teacher’ in Bangladesh and got Gold Medal from Ministry of
Education in 2004. He also awarded `MAN OF THE YEAR-2001’ by
the American Biographical Institute, North Carolina, USA. He visited
Saudi Arabia, specially the Holly city Mecca and Medina as a
distinguished member of Hajj Delegation Team Headed by Chief Advisor,
Chief of Army and Advisor of Religion of Bangladesh in 2007.
